Director Of Nursing

Wanda McCarthy, LPN

Wanda McCarthy, LPN is our Director of Nursing at The Terrace of Ivey Acres.

Wanda is a lifelong resident of Jay. She graduated from Jay High School in 1983 and from PJC LPN program in 1984. Wanda worked in OB/GYN with Dr. Sue George for 22 years and loved all her patients, especially the older ladies.

Due to witnessing the challenges she and her mother faced after her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer ’s disease, Wanda developed a desire to care for the elderly and disabled. She wants to be an advocate for them and their families/caregivers and to help them navigate the many challenges that arise as they care for their loved ones. She hopes to show each resident that they matter and they are precious to God.

Wanda feels blessed to have an awesome family and her favorite thing is to have them all together in one place spending time together with her and her husband of 32 years, David.

Wanda’s favorite music is southern gospel and contemporary Christian music.

ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

Teresa Blair

The Terrace Assisted Living Facility is very fortunate to have a loving and caring Activities Director. She is very excited when talking about her position.

“I married my high school sweetheart after graduating from Flomaton High School. My husband, James, and I have one daughter Brooklyn. I have worked at The Terrace Assisted Living Facility for almost 2 years. I was drawn to providing care to the elderly during my mother’s four-year battle with lung cancer. She inspired me into the career of providing care for senior citizens in need I feel like all our residents are just as important to their families and I consider them part of mine.”
